Beth Friedman, BSHA, RHIT

President and Founder

Beth Friedman is the President of Agency Ten22. Prior to starting the firm in 2005 formerly known as The Friedman Marketing Group, Beth served as Director of Marketing for A4 Health Systems, McKesson, and eWebCoding. Beth holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration and is a registered health information technician (RHIT). She is a member of HIMSS, AHIMA, HFMA and the American Marketing Association. Beth began her career as a clinical coder and supervisor for two large Pittsburgh hospitals. From coding, she moved to quality assurance and data management before joining the vendor community in 1991.

Erin Wabol, MBA

Partner & Chief Marketing Officer

Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Erin held marketing roles in pharmacy and medical transcription. With a passion for creative campaigns, she enjoys helping clients find the right marketing mix, no matter the budget. As Ten22’s unofficial creative director, Erin works closely with clients on campaigns, design, strategy and budgeting. She is a member of the American Health Information Management Association, MarketingProfs and the American Marketing Association. Erin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of South Florida.

Angela Jenkins

Executive Director, Public Relations & Content Strategy

Angela Jenkins brings two decades of high performance public relations, account management and content management expertise for healthcare IT companies on both the corporate and agency side. She is passionate about finding strategic opportunities to build brand momentum and expand leads that align with clients’ visibility, business and content strategy goals. Upon earning her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Auburn University, Angela began her career as a newspaper reporter in the Southeast and later launched prominent consumer websites during the dot.com era. She has been honored as a PRSourceCode “Top Tech PR Pro Communicator” and is the recipient of IABC Gold and Silver Flame Awards. Angela is a member of the Colorado HIMSS Chapter and Colorado Healthcare Strategy and Management (CHSM) organization.

Jessica Clifton

Senior Healthcare Writer

Jess draws on over 12 years of experience in digital marketing, business intelligence and market research focused exclusively on the healthcare b-to-b space. She honed her tech and writing skills at Billian’s HealthDATA where she previously worked as a data analyst, Product Manager and Director of Marketing. Jess is a member of HIMSS, a #healthITchicks collaborator, and a fierce believer in the impact of health IT, value-based care, and the social determinants of health. In her down-time Jess serves as a board member of TC New Tech, working to foster tech entrepreneurship in her northern Michigan home town. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia.

Kathy Contes

Executive Director, Digital Marketing

Kathy Contes is a marketing communications leader with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare and health IT industries. Kathy has experience developing, implementing and growing marketing programs in companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies—including Microsoft, Unisys, McKesson, HP, InfoSys, CTG, Inc., Cisco, PacifiCare (now United Healthcare), QCSI (now Trizetto), IAC and TriWest Healthcare Alliance. She successfully negotiates vendor and advertising contracts with these top tier media outlets. Kathy develops and implements strategic digital marketing, including well planned, business focused website design and social media programs.  Kathy earned a B.S. degree in finance from Arizona State University.

Amber Doster

Speakers Bureau Director

Before joining AgencyTen22, Amber Doster held several marketing positions for over ten years with HealthPort, including Vice President for over a five-year period. With well over 25 years of healthcare marketing knowledge and seasoned leadership experience, Amber’s primary focus and passion are on health information technology and health information management. She is proficient in strategic planning, market research, event planning, trade show management, internal and external brand management, contact management, B2B marketing and communications. Before joining HealthPort in 2001, Doster served as Marketing Product Manager, for WebMD. She’s held key marketing positions supporting areas of health information technology and management in both the acute care and ambulatory settings.

Julie Abbott

Senior Writer and Editor

Julie brings more than 20 years of experience in content development, specializing in health information management, clinical documentation improvement, information governance, clinical communications and health IT. She writes feature articles, case studies, blogs, newsletters, website copy, press releases and more. Julie collaborates with clients to promote their expertise and solutions supporting value-based care initiatives. She previously worked with a leading company that provides software for healthcare billing, auditing and compliance. In her literary life, Julie is the submissions editor for The Great Smokies Review, published by UNC Asheville’s Great Smokies Writing Program. A former social worker, she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Georgia.

Phil Colpas

Honored with several awards from the Florida Press Association, Phil Colpas joined Ten22 after several years as managing editor of Health Management Technology, a trade magazine focusing on healthcare IT. He earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida’s prestigious College of Journalism and Communications, and has worked as reporter, writer, columnist and editor for various newspapers and magazines, including The Observer Group, The Pelican Press, Gulf Coast Business Review and A Consumer’s Guide to New Home Construction.

Eric Hoffman

Director of New Media

Nicole Quinlan

Graphic Designer

Nicole Quinlan brings nearly 15 years of experience in corporate marketing, artistic creation and business ownership. She focuses on design and marketing consulting in both print and online media. She’s served as a Corporate Design and Marketing Manager for two healthcare companies as well as managing marketing projects for companies like Castrol/BP and CARE. Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Business as well as Art History.
